My academic interests are grounded primarily in political science and history. I am interested in how American political institutions develop, how constitutional and political ideas change over time, and how public policy shapes education and civic life.

The presidency, Congress, and interbranch relations
Education policy and the history of education

Although my primary disciplinary interests are political science and history, I am also interested in questions that cross public policy, education, and American studies. I am especially drawn to courses and projects that examine institutions from historical, political, and educational perspectives.
